Laser Hair Removal Pre-Treatment Instructions
You are scheduled for a laser hair removal consultation. If you are deemed an appropriate candidate, you may or may not choose to receive treatment same day. Please review and adhere to the following pre-treatment instructions to prepare for your appointment:
1. No use of antibiotics within 7 days of laser treatment.
2. Shave treatment area within 24 hours of appointment.
3. Discontinue use of retinol products 1 week prior to appointment.
4. Avoid sun exposure for 4-6 weeks prior to laser treatment.
5. Avoid use of tanning creams, spray tans, or any type of pigment prior to treatment.
6. Avoid waxing, threading or plucking hairs for 6 weeks prior to laser hair removal.
7. Wait at least 1 month before previous laser, IPL or chemical peel to receive laser treatments.
Please do not discontinue use of any prescription medications without first consulting with your primary care physician.
Laser Hair Removal Post-Treatment Instructions
To avoid complications and achieve the most optimal results, please review and adhere to the following post treatment instructions:
1. Avoid sun exposure for 1-2 weeks; when exposed to the sun, wear an SPF of 40.
2. Avoid abrasive skincare in treatment area like retinol, AHA’s, scrubs, etc. for one week.
3. Avoid saunas, hot tubs, hot showers, or extreme physical exertion where your body temperature is elevated for 48 hours post treatment.
4. Avoid waxing, plucking, or picking at hairs in the treated areas. You may continue to shave as needed.
